What's the Grand Tournament?

Okay, so I was reading Hellraider's analysis of Rainy on the old AWBW blog and decided to poke around. I found some interesting posts, talking about a Grand Tournament with groups A to P, which actually sounded really interesting. What's it about and is it still going on?

The Grand Tournament was a massive tournament that Hellraider and I ran about 3 years ago. Had a group stage with round robin play followed by double elimination stage with the top 64 players from the group stage. It sadly got derailed by people being inactive or dropping out and never finished. Not still going on.
Maybe if there's enough interest on this forum, I wouldn't mind running a small 8p single elimination tournament again. But I'm skeptical about how many people would sign up.

I tried running a tourny on here about 6months ago that featured the legendary Ultrastorm in it, and myself, but no one really joined.

Yeah, not surprising. As I said, I'm highly skeptical that there's enough traffic here to actually put together a real tournament.
