Global League First Time Question
Hey, I (along with some friends) have been enjoying this site for the past 5 years or so and I had never known about or done a Global League game (or known how to make a forum profile lol). But now I'm in a GL game for the first time and had a question: The Boot Timer is set to 4 and the AET is set to 6, which makes sense (and I know the AET doesn't quite work). But my opponent has not made a move in days and neither is going down. What is occurring and should I be worried?

Re: Global League First Time Question
Hi! Welcome to Global League
First, I'll just say that many of these things have been broken for a while. The old forum has been inactive for probably all 5 of the years you've been around and the new forum wasn't well advertised until recently. As far as Global League goes, that feature was also broken for about a year and a half, until a few weeks ago when it was fixed. To top things off, the AET is working now for the first time in years, and the recently broken boot timer is also functional again.
We have Walker to thank for all this, as he's been added to the dev team by amarriner and has been hard at work fixing bugs left and right. If you'd like, you can join our Discord server (linked on AWBW under the "Community" heading on the left) where he posts updates on any changes or bug fixes. There are also plenty of people there to help answer questions like this one.
So, to (finally) answer your question: When I load the game page, it shows 2 days until boot and 1 day until AET. Boot will reset after any movement, so your opponent likely made a move within the last 2 days, but it's been 5 days since his turn started, as you can tell by his AET which does not reset. My guess is that the problem is not that the boot/AET isn't working correctly, but rather that it's not displaying correctly for you. Other users have seen this intermittently and, based off of their experiences, I suggest toggling gridlines on and off, as this inexplicably fixes the bug sometimes. Otherwise there's not much that you can do to verify that it's working apart from either waiting or getting other users to confirm that it is functioning and displaying properly for them when they view your game.
Hope this helps!
