Oh, you have access to the AWBW codebase now? That's great news if so! And good to see you starting with that Sonja SCOP bug, that sounds like it was a nasty one.

Access is maybe a bit strong choice of wording, but for now I am permitted to dabble here and there under heavy supervision, yes. 
Tongue in cheek comments aside, I'm hoping to be able to add some new features to the site and do bug fixes and such. The pace will be snail-like thanks to a learning curve and available time, but it's better than nothing. Feel free to report bugs in the Bug Report section of the forum, or make feature requests etc. No promises of course, but having a list to reference can be handy.

We already have Walker ridiculously overworked in the Map Committee, I'm astounded at how much they get done there. I look forward to their work here as well.

Gotcha, didn't mean to overstate anything. As for feature requests...some way to save replays locally comes to mind immediately.
This might be a bit outside of the scope, but: some game mode with modified CO and unit statistics? Perhaps there could be "Experimental" games where Jess/Sonja/etc would use their AW3 stats, or where Missiles/Neotanks were cheaper; or some new concept where Grit's indirects have their minimum range as well as their maximum range increased (Artillery becomes 3-4, Rockets become 4-6, etc). I say this partly because Jess and Sonja are so weak in AWBW, and much better in their AW3 incarnations - it'd be fun to be able to play them in an AWBW setting.
I understand that making any sort of balance changes even in an opt-in setting opens a can of worms, so I'm not expecting this kind of thing to happen anytime soon, but I do want to put it out there.
