Capture Phase
So I've been playing on AWBW for a while. (name's Everdan by the way, usually up for a game)
Anyway, as I understand it, most games are divided into the "capture phase" and "battle phase". And while I think I grasp the basics of "battle phase" strategy, I'm not so sure as to "capture phase" strategy.
Of course there are basics, like going for bases first, maximising capture efficiency, and the eternal debate over whether it's better to rush contested cities or expand naturally. Having understood this, I don't think I play the capture phase badly, but I don't think it's the best possible way, either, and I probably make lots of suboptimal moves that lose me 1000 income here and there from finishing a capture a day later or capturing in the wrong order or whatever. I'd like to avoid doing this whenever possible.
So what I want to know is, is there some way in which high-level players calculate out all the infantry moves to maximise their income? i.e. moving each infantry unit in a specific way to get the most number of cities as quickly as possible / disrupting enemy captures? If so, I'd like to know how to do it as well.
Thanks for the input!

Read this: http://awbwblog.blogspot.com/2011/10/map-analysis-rainy.html
This was written by one of the best AWBW players around. It's not exactly what you're looking for, but there is a thorough explanation of the capture phase for this map that can give you an idea of what you should be considering.
