AWBW seems to be down

First topic message reminder :

Looks pretty bad, is the game gone for good?

Delete some of the crappy maps. Most be a least a couple of thousand that are complete junk

AWBW is just equivalent to an online Staunton chess set ... AW/PD/CT like chess will never die and neither will the specific kind of implementation found at AWBW (like Staunton design) it is pretty much superbly optimum visually and will just be re-done if it does go.
If I cant get the time to do it, then i ll just pay someone finally. Its not going to dissappear forever.

Map Committee can probably delete maps.  No one on the previous MC ever told me how to do that.  So that's cool.  Even if I could, that's one hell of a job for anyone to manually do, we have over 60,000 maps.  Plus I'd undoubtedly piss people off when I deleted their maps, so there'd have to be some system around doing it to minimize that. Plus we don't know for certain if that would resolve issues due to lack of information from the site owner.

I do hope it's not dead for good though. That would be unfortunate.

As much as I hate saying it, I think there should just be a "fresh copy" of the AWBW site.

I'm no expert on creating websites, but I'm guessing it'll take less time than deleting countless bad maps and forgotten accounts that have never been accessed again.

We still have enough AWBW players who'd like to design plenty of maps (and maybe bring back some old ones) and enjoy the site very much... right?  

AWBW need a rebirth!

Also I think we need a days of ruin version as well.

All good ideas, but like you guys, I have no webspace to really host stuff other than these forums, which wouldn't work well for an AW clone to my knowledge, haha.

Probably the server clogged up again like it always does, because it lacks memory, and maintenance. I'll try to tweet him at: https://twitter.com/amarriner , and ask all other concerned AWBWers to do the same.

This forum has activity sporadically, there are recent posts under awbw.
Its the only active english speaking forum associated with awbw . The chinese players have a forum but i can never get auto translate good enough to read what they say.

We're active, but often busy doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes (or managing other games), haha. But the ladder maps are being updated throughout this week, and some other stuff, not to worry...as long as the site comes back up, that is.

I'm worried it won't; I read some other topics around here, and apparently the site is floundering due to a lack of funding? Or am I wrong?
