map editor broken - fails to save maps correctly

i totally just broke kumara3: immigration while trying to balance the units.

cannot successfully edit other maps either.

please help.

AWBW is degrading more and more.  

The only way to 'edit' your maps correctly, that I heard of, is by reuploading them.

what map editor do you recommend?

can i export maps directly from advance wars 2?

You can find this page by clicking on a link at the bottom of your 'Design Maps' page.

Lol, I knew that! What im not sure about is how to upload it...

In the map editor, after you press the savemap button, copy the output text from the textbox.
Paste that into an empty .txt file and save it somewhere you can find.
Upload that text file to the site using the page I linked, by clicking 'Browse...' and then selecting your file.

Hi, just found this forum while checking on the internets how to create a good ol' map for my friends and I to play on AWBW.

I successfully uploaded a map, using the editor linked above, but when I check it on AWBW, it only shows structures: terrain is completely missing (couldn't say for units, I haven't put those in my map).

Do you have any ideas on this issue?

I see the map perfectly fine. It's probably something browser-related on your end.

I just looked into it, the map image meant to be uploaded for the AW1 theme is not working. AW2 theme map image did work correctly.
I had AW1 theme set since it loads faster, and couldn't see it either until switching.
Hey, can you try unpublishing and republishing your map? That might work.

Grr, this totally ruins this game, I thought everyone was seeing the game like this, but the weird AW2 theme users could see the map the whole time! Cheaters!

I just tested on IE, Firefox and Chrome, and all three do not display the map correctly. A friend of mine told me that all he sees are the structures only (the same display bug that I have).

When I unpublish/republish or delete/re-upload, the map does not display correctly. I didn't even know you could change the map image, so all my settings on AWBW are default.

I don't really get it!   

You can change the theme setting in the User Info menu:
Change the AWBW Theme (2nd from bottom) to "Advance Wars 2" and you should be able to see the map terrain.

Wasn't aware that this fixed the bug until just now, though.

Republish didn't fix it then... unfortunate, but thank you for trying.
The map background image is supposed to be updated when publishing. This tells me that the problem is in code that is common to uploading a map, and publishing it.
Currently unsure if anything can be done about this, but I'll look into it.

That link is your best bet and is what I use whenever I want something bigger uploaded, but the site's up-times are very, very sporadic. Check back on it every once in a while, you might find it working.
